¡KAcademically, I feel I'm an American more than a Chinese, because I can only speak English and also because of the way I was educated. But, at the personal level I feel myself to be Chinese; at least I like Chinese food more than the western food!" (Singtao Daily, 13 December 2000) |

Dr. Ho has been the Scientific Director and Chief Executive Officer of Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Centre since 1990. He is well-known for his pioneering research into AIDS and for the development of the groundbreaking combination of drugs -- commonly known as the "cocktail" therapy - which has given new hope to patients infected with HIV. Among his many honours, Dr. Ho was named Time Magazine's Man of the Year for 1996. Recently, Dr. David Ho was one of the recipients of the Presidential Citizens Medal for 2000. On 8 January 2001, President Clinton honored 28 Americans for answering "America's Highest Calling'' of service to their country in a ceremony at the White House.
