As part of the "Lecture Series for Youth Leaders", Professor YANG Chen-ning was invited to be a Guest Speaker to share his experiences with over 400 local youths.

  Professor YANG Chen-ning's Background
   

 

Professor YANG was born in Anhui, China, 1922. He obtained his Master Degree in Qinghua University, China and furthered his studies in the United States and obtained his PhD from The University of Chicago in 1948. He was the member and Professor of the Institute of Advanced Study at the Princeton University of the United States, Albert Einstein Professor of Physics at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, the United States. He became the Professor of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong since 1986.

In 1957, Professor YANG Chen-ning and Professor Li Zheng-dao toppled the Parity Conservation Theory of Einstein and won the Nobel Laureate in Physics. Their outstanding achievement was highly appraised and regarded as a milestone in Physics. Professor YANG had made remarkable contributions in Physics and won many other international awards including, National Medal of Science, Benjamin Franklin Medal and King Faisal International Prize, etc.
